First Look: Banshee, Havoc and Beast character trailers for ‘X-Men: First Class’

X-Men: First Class

X-Men: First Class is almost upon us, and Marvel and Fox have released three new character trailers for the forthcoming film: for Banshee, Havoc and Beast.

The trailers to date have given us the merest fumes of what Matthew Vaugh’s (Kick Ass) version of the X-Men will look like, and these clips (courtesy of MTV) give us our first extended look at scenes from the film.

The first of these features Caleb Landry Jones (TV’s Friday Night Lights) as Sean Cassidy (aka Banshee), the mutant with the power of a sonic scream.

The second trailer above is for Havoc, also known by his human name of Alex Summers (not to be confused with Scott Summers/Cyclops, portrayed in the first three X-Men films by James Marsden and brother to Alex in the Marvel comics). Played by Lucas Till (Battle: Los Angeles), his powers manifest as plasma beams that he has difficulty controlling. How difficult? See the clip above.

Last, but not least – Beast! Portrayed by Kelsey Grammer and lots of digital makeup in X:Men – The Last Stand, this is his origin story showing his painful transformation from geeky man of learning to big fuzzy blue know-it-all with a heart of gold.   This time out he is played by Nicholas Hoult, a seasoned veteran at just 21 years of age. Making his mark on the big screen in About a Boy (he was the boy), he has gone from boy to man in such manly films as The Weather Man, A Single Man and now X-Men.
