The video appears to be Super 8 footage of a crime scene in the 1960s, indicating the first of the crimes being discovered. A number of sources have claimed that the video is full of “clues”, and that the licence plates are worth checking out. That said, from the previous footage we have seen, the major clue on this film is that it will be an almost straight reworking of the original films.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is the first film in Columbia Pictures’ three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s literary blockbuster The Millennium Trilogy. Directed by David Fincher and starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, the film is based on the first novel in the trilogy, which altogether have sold 50 million copies in 46 countries and become a worldwide phenomenon. The screenplay is by Steven Zaillian.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is released in Australia on 12 January 2012 from Sony.
