After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

This shows a Green Arrow very early in his career, defending the city against tennis balls. It may not be the Green Arrow that long-time fans were hoping for, sharing more in common with the The New 52 run than earlier issues. However, many liberties have been taken with the relationships according to the synopsis, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

The series stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance.

Based on characters appearing in comic books and graphic novels published by DC Comics, ARROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“Green Lantern,” “Brothers & Sisters”), Marc Guggenheim (“FlashForward,” “Eli Stone”), Andrew Kreisberg (“Warehouse 13,” “The Vampire Diaries”) and David Nutter (“Smallville,” “Supernatural,” “Game of Thrones”). Melissa Kellner Berman (“Eli Stone,” “Dirty Sexy Money”) is co-executive producer. The pilot was directed by David Nutter from a teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim, story by Greg Berlanti & Marc Guggenheim.

Rory Jansen (Bradley Cooper), a struggling writer, aspires to be the next great literary voice. When he discovers a lost manuscript in a weathered attaché case, he realizes he possesses something extraordinary that he desperately wishes he had created. Rory decides to pass the work off as his own and finally receives the recognition he desperately craves. However, he soon learns that living with his choice will not be as easy as he thought as he faces a moral dilemma that will make him take a hard look at the man he has become.

The Words is released on 21 September 2012 in the US. It does not currently have an Australian release date.

Nothing says 007 like staring down the barrel of a gun, and that’s exactly what this teaser poster has gone for. The classic and stylish poster perhaps signals a return to the simple elegance of the earlier Bond films, before gadgetry made one-upmanship turned the franchise into something else entirely.

Arrow is a modern retelling of the legendary comics character and hails from Green Lantern duo Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, who will executive produce and pen the project alongside Fringe co-EP Andrew Kreisberg, with whom they worked on Eli Stone.

The source goes on say that show will probably screen on Wednesdays, following Supernatural.

All Hell Breaks Loose III is presented by The Hub Productions, an organisation that strives to provide opportunities for fans to meet actors, artists and behind the scenes stars from popular TV shows, movies and comics. We know this has been out for a while, but we had to cover it. Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer gets a fresh take from Australian artist Ken Taylor, infusing his rock-star stylings into Michael Rooker’s visage. The beautiful and haunting simplicity of the poster belies the horror and visceral violence that lies beneath the surface, much like Henry himself! There were a limited amount of 245 of these as a 24″ x 36″ screen print.

Jason Edmiston tackles Conan the Barbarian, reminding us of why Arnie is the only one who should ever bear the mantle. Finally, Jay Shaw’s poster for A Nightmare on Elm Street is reminiscent of the  poster for Steve McQueen’s Shame, except instead of the lingering possibility of a tussle in the sheets with Michael Fassbender’s penis, there is the stylised rendering of Robert Englund’s head. Sleep on that.

The We and the I is the heartfelt and comical story of the final bus ride home for a group of young high school students and graduates. As kids depart the bus for the last time, we get to learn about these graduates as they step into the world – their love, their conflicts, their despair and their hope.
