‘Alien: Covenant’ prologue film bridges gap with ‘Prometheus’

ALIEN: COVENANT, the upcoming film by series progenitor Ridley Scott, has received a new prologue film just in time for Alien Day. The short film acts as a sequel to Prometheus, bridging the gap between that film and the forthcoming epic.

Titled “The Crossing,” it shows what happened to to Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and the synthetic David (Michael Fassbender) following the events of Prometheus.

ALIEN: COVENANT marks Ridley Scott’s return to the Alien universe, and stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby, and James Franco. It will be released in Australia on 11 May 2017 from Fox, and in the US on 19 May.
