‘The Dark Tower’: featurette explores Stephen King’s magnum opus

“It’s been the one story that never really leaves me alone.” Writer Stephen King kicks off the latest featurette for THE DARK TOWER, discussing how important the saga is to his overall body of work. Joined by the cast, it continues to hint that 

The film is said to be both an adaptation and a sequel to the popular author’s magnum opus, and there are hints that the events on screen have played out before. In addition to King’s eight core novels, the 34 year saga has encompassed everything from King’s The Stand‘Salem’s LotInsomnia and his collaborations with Peter Straub. Suffice it to say, this one is going to be deep and huge.

Starring Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Taylor, Claudia Kim, Fran Kranz, Abbey Lee and Jackie Earle Haley, it’s directed by Nikolaj Arcel. It hits US cinemas on 4 August, and Australian cinemas on 17 August 2017, from Sony Pictures Releasing.
